Bethel High-School

CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF

Project description

Bethel High-School – Bethel High School (BHS) is a major rural high school, drawing students from many villages and towns in the Phamong region of Lesotho. They run a diesel generator on fuel subsidized by the Lesotho Ministry of Education to power a small computer lab for their students for approximately four hours each day. Most students are housed in dormitories at the high school with little access to hot water, even during winters where temperatures drop significantly below freezing. The system was installed in 2007 at BHS located near the girls’ dormitory to provide hot water to their bathing facilities and was disassembled in late 2008.
